Microphone Not Working on Windows? Quick Fix Steps
Fix microphone input issues on Windows with privacy, device, and driver checks.
If your mic is not detected or no one can hear you, follow these checks:
- Go to Settings > Privacy & security > Microphone and enable microphone access.
- Open Settings > System > Sound > Input and select the correct microphone.
- Click Input volume and set it between 70-100.
- In Control Panel > Sound > Recording, set your mic as Default Device.
- Restart the app (Discord/Zoom/Teams) and test again.
If still not working, update or reinstall the audio input driver from Device Manager.
