Router reboot and power cycle for difficult network trouble

A full router/modem power cycle clears temporary faults and often restores normal network service.

When all else fails, restart your networking hardware.

  1. Unplug router and modem power cables from outlet.
  2. Wait 30 seconds.
  3. Plug modem back in and wait until lights are stable.
  4. Plug router back in and wait until it fully starts.
  5. Reconnect device and verify internet.

If repeated reboot solves it temporarily, check for firmware update on router or contact ISP.
