File Explorer Not Responding on Windows
Fix frozen File Explorer with cache cleanup, shell extension checks, and repair commands.
When File Explorer hangs or crashes repeatedly:
- Restart File Explorer from Task Manager.
- Clear File Explorer history from Folder Options.
- Disable unnecessary third-party shell extensions.
- Run:
sfc /scannow - Run:
chkdsk /scan
Restart the PC and test by opening large folders and network paths.
